Natural Anti-Aging Products
Many people hope to slow down or halt the aging process and spend thousands of dollars on expensive creams and concoctions intended to keep their youthful appearance. However, there is no need to resort to man-made and chemical infused products when there are plenty of natural anti-aging products. In fact, many of these natural remedies have been used for centuries.
If you are considering any anti-aging product, be it a lotion, cream, gel, machine, or even a natural remedy it is in your best interest to do a little research about that particular product before you invest your time and money. Additionally, you may want to read user reviews to see what others think about the product as well.
Vitamins
Vitamins are part of a healthy diet and can have an overall beneficial effect on your health. Depending on the particular vitamin, you will get different benefits, but they can help you not only look younger, but feel younger. Vitamin A and the Vitamin B Complex are known to be a natural anti-aging element because it helps refresh skin tissue. Calcium, magnesium, and zinc are also thought to have positive effects on skin renewal.
Methyl Sulfonyl Methane
Methyl Sulfonyl Methane, also known as MSM, is available in both pill form and a lotion or cream. MSM is a bivalent group of SO2, which happens to be a set of synaptic chromosomes. MSM has been used for years by people who want to reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, although recently, the government has begun labeling the supplement bottles with warnings, as the MSM pill has been found to cause harm to your health.
Collagen and Antioxidants
Collagen can help prevent or minimize fine lines and wrinkles and comes in supplemental, cream, gel, and lotion form. However, take care when using the supplement, as it has been found to cause or contribute to some health problems.
Antioxidants are free-radical fighting elements that can help fight the aging process. Copper is a natural antioxidant that can help fight wrinkles. Other naturally occurring antioxidants include Vitamin C, alpha lipoic acid, DMEA, tocotrienol, and ester.
Primrose Oils
Primrose oils have been found to prevent wrinkles. In fact, essential fatty acids combined with linolic acid can actually restore your skinâs health. These oils can help moisturize the skin and nails, causing the appearance of lines and wrinkles to disappear.
Remember, wrinkles occur for several reasons, other than aging. Dry skin, exposure to sun, smoke, and alcohol, tanning beds, bruises, and injury can all contribute to the onset of wrinkles. If you avoid these things, or moisturize your skin, you can slow down the aging effects associated with them.
Dealing with Dry Skin
Dry skin can cause wrinkles and lead to looking older than you would like. It is essential that you take care of dry skin properly to reduce the gaining process. Using baby oil on dry skin is not ideal, it will provide moisture, however it will also attract dirt. Dirty skin can also wrinkle more easily than clean skin.
These are just a few natural remedies when it comes to keeping your youthful looks. In conclusion, always be sure to research any new natural remedy before beginning a new skincare regimen or supplement.

Fuel For Life and Lines? Fragrance Makes A Difference
Diesel has a new fragrance 'Fuel For Life' - sexy, sleek and according to some reports, Fuel for Life (http://girlspoke.com/2007/09/06/fuel-for-life-my-fuel-for-sex/) is destined to enhance your sexual experiences. Several studies have found that fragrances are not just good for your general odor, but can also enhance your body appearance in other ways.
A study from Dr. Alan Hirsch at the Science of Smell found that a special odor can actually reduce weight up to 12 pounds. From the study:
Studies have found that certain clothes can affect visual perception of a personâs weight, but few if any studies have investigated the effect of other senses on weight perception. While some scents have been found to actually help reduce weight, this study is unique in that it tested perception of weight.
Hirsch work is in agreement with the 'pink grapefruit' study which found that , women wearing a pink grapefruit scent appeared 6 years younger than their actual age according to the men who were surveyed.
Appearing both younger and thinner - not a bad benefit from a fragrance.

Laura Bush- Her Style And Her Looks
It canât be easy being married to one of the most powerful men in the world. When your every move is scrutinized and your picture is regularly in the papers, you have every right to be a little conscious of your looks. So how does Laura Bush handle it? And does she have anything to feel self conscious about?
Fashion Journalist Louise Gerrard says: âLaura is the perfect politicians wife. Sheâs knows how she is expected to dress and she has her style down to a tee.
Laura always looks very conservative. Smart skirt suits and pearls are almost her trademark. Its hard to know though whether this is Lauraâs personal choice or just what she knows she has to wear. The First lady cannot be seen in cropped jeans and a tank top!â
âLauraâs style is a little âuptightâ. Even with her role as the First lady she could loosen up a little. Well-lined wide trousers with a fitted blouse is both smart but cool. I think Laura could do with showing a little bit more of an adventurous style to show a more youthful side to herâ
Hair and make-up stylist Caitlyn Moore says âLauraâs hair is quite fussy. Itâs very âstyledâ and looks quite high maintenance. This type of style is quite dated and can add years to a personâs look. Laura could try a more choppy style to give her a more modern look.â
Cosmetic Specialist Dr Richard Halton says âI do not think Laura has received any surgical assistance. There is a possibility of some restylane injection though as her skin is quite smooth in appearance.â
Laura gets seven out of ten on the Grinza scale; from Louise - âletâs see your wild side Laura!â

Emergency Manicure Kit for the Traveling Gal
As many of you know, I travel quite a bit. Sometimes four to six days a month which leaves me with little time to book a wonderful, relaxing manicure at the salon to fix those pesky chipped nails. Which by the way, my nail polish always chips; I don’t care if the manicurist uses super, [...]
Madonna And Her Looks
Queen of Pop Madonna has been changing her fashion style for years, her hair has gone from blonde to brunette and back again countless times and tried everything from Gothic to dance queen, from Latino lovely to funky rock chick but has she managed to capture a style that keeps her looking youthful? Or is
it time to embrace growing old a little more gracefully?
Thereâs no doubt that Madonna has style. For over 20 years she has been a fashion icon for millions but at 48 years old is fashion enough to keep the superstar looking young?
Fashion journalist Louise Gerrard says âMadonna is a beautiful woman. She knows whatâs trendy because very often she sets the trends. However the whilst she definitely has the figure for the disco-queen style sheâs sporting at the moment I think there are better styles out there for her which will be more suited
to her age.â
âThereâs no need for her to dress dowdy but the leotards and knee boots are probably more suited to someone in their very early 20âs. I think if she was to wear something a little more sophisticated sheâd look more stylish than she does at the momentâ.
Louise adds âMadonnaâs hair suits her perfectly. The strawberry blonde lightens her face whilst still looking natural and the cut accentuates her fantastic bone structure.â
Cosmetic specialist Dr Richard Halton says âMadonna has fantastic skin for her age. She has great bone structure and lives a healthy lifestyle which helps keep her skin looking youthful. It is also clear she protects her skin from the sun as there is very little sun damage. I would not think she has had any
cosmetic surgery.â
Madonna gets an eight on the GRINZA scale - great skin for her age but as far as Louise is concerned âsometimes her clothes let her down.â

Do I Have Blemish Prone Aging Skin?
I got this email message recently, “How can my skin be aging, sagging and wrinkling if it’s oily and acne prone? It doesn’t make sense; shouldn’t the oil (lots of it ) keep my skin supple and wrinkle free?” I thought it was a really great question and wanted to share my reply with [...]
Janet Jackson And Her Looks
Janet Jackson has not had an easy time of it lately. Her brother faced another child sex court case, her last album didnât do as well as it was expected to and to top it all off sheâs been criticized in the tabloids after putting on a little weight. All that stress would get to anyone so Janet could be forgiven for looking a little worse for wear.
But Janet is of the Superstar breed who seem to defy reality. Just months after being spotted look a little frumpy to say the least the singer was back to her usual stunning self and actually looking better than ever! So whatâs her secret?
Fashion Journalist Louise Gerrard saysâ âJanet looks amazing! It seemed to take her no time at all to get her super-toned figure back and itâs almost unbelievable that she is 40! Janet has a really funky style and because she looks so young she can pull it off without looking like she is trying too hard. Because of her figure everything looks great on her anyway! I doubt there are many twenty year olds with a stomach that toned!â
Cosmetic specialist Dr Richard Halton says: âJanet looks to have had rhinoplasty, known more commonly as a nose job. Rhinoplasty can change the entire aesthetic of the face and is a very popular treatment. However this is not an age defying treatment. People who undergo the surgery have usually disliked the shape and size of their nose for sometime and decided to have it corrected. I donât think Janet has had any treatments to make her look younger. She has quite a youthful looking face naturally.â
Janet gets an eight on ten on the Grinza scale; from Louise - âwhen it comes to aging Janetâs obviously in âControlâ!â

Stem Cells Offer Hope For The Future Of Plastic Surgery
Songtao Shi along with other researchers at the University of Southern California have been conducting experiments utilizing stem cells to grow bone and skin. Shi's newest results could literally change the way cosmetic surgery is performed throughout the world.
Shi conducts research in the USC's Center for Craniofacial Molecular Biology. Working together with scientists at dental schools in China and Korea, Shi has discovered that mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) have the ability to grow bone and tissue as demonstrated in swine and mouse subjects.
Although the studies are still in their early stages, the research published in the Stem Cells' April issue implies that MSCs could someday be the first choice of plastic surgeons in just about every procedure performed.
It's very exciting, Shi commented, It is fundamentally different from current techniques. At this point it is just a concept, but in the future it may change the way we do plastic surgery.
The studies include results from two separate experiments. First Shi and colleagues drew MSC from human bone marrow and inserted them into the fore section of a skull. Two months later, growth was apparent. Further examination of the new tissue proved it to be not only healthy but also completely part of the existing bone.
More amazing was the evidence that the new bone revealed signs of homeostasis, a method the bone uses to produce red and white blood cells.
Shi said, This is very important. This is not an implant. This is an extension of the body. These cells have the ability to work with and organize existing cells and tissue.
The second series of experiments extracted MSCs from a periodontal ligament and injected them into the facial creases of a mouse subject. The creases faded over time due to the creation of new collagen matter.
In the future, Shi plans to move forward with his preliminary findings by studying various systems of delivery. The MSCs success can change through the use of different scaffolding materials. He is also planning to examine the possibility of autologous stem cells, which are produced by the subject own tissue, to increase success rates.
Shi says, There are many potential applications for these techniques. There is still so much that we don't understand fully. It is clear that we need more studies to explore new therapies and improve clinical consequences.

Fish Parts Found To Prevent Wrinkles
The National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA) has been studying the effects of fish waste on skin cells. The results may prove that the answer to preventing wrinkles lies in the most revolting parts of the fish.
The parts most often used are the skin and liver, and occasionally the eyes or gills.
Reserachers at the NIWA have spent the last five years testing these bits of fish waste on human skin cells grown in test tubes. Over 150 various species of fish were testing. The results proved most interesting, They don't' act like ordinary UV protectants for example, which primarily put a layer over the top of your skin, but seem to actually get into the cells and actually so a protection from within the cell, says Dr. Vicki Webb of the NIWA.
While fish waste won't stop people from aging, it does seem to give skin cells a longer life expectancy. Omega 3 oil, the oil found in fish. Has been included in many skin products before but this will be the first time actual fish parts will be used. Expect products to begin appearing on shelves, in France, later this year.
Some wonder if consumers will really be wiling to purchase beauty products made of fish parts. Gary Nicholson, of the Kirkcaldie Stains store, believes they will. It's probably one of those products that people will come and try and if they find it works for them they will continue to purchase it.
However NIWA cautions people that not all of the fish waste products are effective for wrinkle prevention. No don't' try this at home, wait until the product comes out.

She has shown she can take on any man when it comes to politics and beat them at their own game and love her or hate her you have to admire her. But one issue that has never really been discussed is Condoleezaâs looks. Thereâs no doubt sheâs an intelligent woman but is she dealing with aging as well as she is dealing with authority?
Condoleezaâs political career has been prolific. She became Secretary of State on January 26, 2005 after four years as the National Security Advisor. But has considering the well being of the country prevented her from taking any interest in her looks? And is holding back the aging process very much low on her priorities?
Fashion journalist Louise Gerrard says âCondoleeza is an amazing woman. She has one of the most important jobs in the world. Saying that she is a woman and of course looks are somewhat important to her. However, perhaps because she has more important things to think about, Condoleeza doesnât dress as well she could.â
âObviously her profession dictates her fashion sense in some way. She has to have a conservative style to work in the White House. However her style is slightly boring and old fashioned. If Condoleeza was in another profession she could have a much more fresh and funky style and she looks great for her age but her profession restricts her style and therefore makes her look older than she is and certainly older than she could look.â
Cosmetic Specialist Dr Richard Halton says âI would not think Condoleeza has received any cosmetic treatment. I would not think she has had time to do so!â
Condoleeza receives a seven out of ten on the GRINZA scale. From Louise - âher style lets her down.â
